Met Jello Man after last night’s (amazing) Kurt Vile show in Boston. He is real and he is great.
-Cast your own SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Dream Team by selecting SIX (6) Cast Members and TWO (2) Featured Players. I toyed with the idea of using The Magnificent Seven, but I like the idea of featured players.
-ONE (1) Cast Member or Featured Player MUST be someone who has NEVER been an SNL Cast Member or Featured Player (former hosts / musical guests / cameos are fine, so if you want George Steinbrenner, YOU CAN HAVE GEORGE STEINBRENNER).
-Justify your decisions. Try not to limit yourself to what cast members have actually done on the show, and think about the show as a whole. Don’t worry too much about logistics, either: if you want Phil Hartman and Kate McKinnon in your cast, go for it. You’ve got a time machine or a magic phone booth or whatever.
-Bonus points for Hosts and Musical Guests, and Style Points for getting creative in other ways (for example, insisting that your show is set in 1989 or only casting people whose first names begin with the letter “D” or whatever).
-Post your list to Tumblr (and to Twitter or wherever), and use the hashtag #SNLDreamTeam (in addition to reblogs and whatnot) so people can see what you’ve come up with and weigh in with their own ideas.
Kurt Braunohler raised $6,000 on Kickstarter to “hire a man in a plane to write stupid things in the sky.”
New frontiers of skywriting right here.
